All items listed on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine or have been previously reviewed by the Town Council, and will be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the General Order of Business, and considered in its normal sequence on the Agenda.

D.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the 2024 renewal applications for 14 Miscellaneous Licenses and 7 Mobile Food Establishments (MFEs), all subject to state and local regulations.

 

D.2 A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of one (1) Makita power cutter kit with additional battery saw kit for the Fire Department from MES Shipman's Fire Equipment Co., pursuant to Sourcewell contract pricing, in the total amount of $3,392.19.

 

D.3 A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for Food Concession at Christofaro Park for the Parks & Recreation Department to the highest bidder, Narragansett Youth Sports at their annual quoted payments of $1,700.00 for 2024, $1,800.00 for 2025, and $1,900.00 for 2026.

 

D.4 A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of two (2) replacement chemical metering pumps for the Route 108 (Point Judith system) and Boston Neck Road (North End system-North Kingstown) chlorine dosing stations from Wescor Associates, Inc., the sole source distributor for the original pump manufacturer, Prominent Fluid Controls, Inc., in the amount of $7,122.50.

F.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE Change Order No. 2 with Aharonian & Associates, Inc. for additional Architectural/Engineering Services for the Point Judith Fire Station Improvements renovation project in the amount of $90,000.00.

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

 

G.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the sponsorship agreement with BankNewport as per attached for the 2024 RI Philharmonic Concert Sponsorship.

 

G.2 A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for Beach Dumpster Service to the lowest bidder, Narragansett Rubbish Removal, Inc, at their quoted bid prices of $34,600.00 for Year 1; $36,330.00 for Year 2; and at their quoted prices for additional dumpsters and emergency pick-up services for a two (2)-year period.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

 

H.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the amended contract with Fuss and O'Neil for additional services related to the Foddering Farm Causeway Concept Study for $210,000.00 and AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign the agreement after review by the Town Solicitor.

 

H.2 A MOTION TO INTRODUCE, READ, PASS AND ACCEPT as a First Reading, "An Ordinance in Amendment of Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Narragansett, Rhode Island, entitled "Zoning", to amend tables and text in Sections 6 and 12 regulating 2 -family and multi-family dwellings.

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

 

I.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE, RATIFY, AND CONFIRM Change Order No. 9 with E.W. Burman, Inc. for the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library Renovation Project, in the amount of $1,468.00.

 

I.2 A MOTION TO APPROVE the the purchase of a replacement pump for Wastewater's Galilee Pump Station from New England Environmental Equipment, Inc. in the amount of $19,086.00.

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

 

J.1 A MOTION TO READ, PASS, AND ADOPT as a Second Reading for an Ordinance in Amendment of Chapter 70 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Narragansett, Rhode Island, entitled "Taxation & Finance", specifically Sec. 70-1(a) entitled "List of ratable property".

BUILDING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT

 

K.1 A MOTION TO READ, PASS AND ADOPT as a Second Reading an ordinance in amendment of Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Narragansett entitled "Businesses" specifically Article XVI entitled "Rental Dwellings", reordering "Article XVII Solicitations" and adding a new Article XVII entitled "Short-term Rentals".

L.5 A MOTION TO APPOINT one individual to the Narragansett Housing Authority for a term to expire on April 30, 2029.

M.1 A MOTION TO PASS a resolution requesting the General Assembly approval of legislation for the issuance of $3 million dollar bonds for affordable housing in the town of Narragansett.
